High school years went by and we just remained acquaintances with different friend groups, never really were on each other’s radar. It was not until senior year of high school when Jacob started standing out to me more than that just goofy blonde hair boy.I was rushing around helping my mom with dinner and he asked if I was ready for the walk and I said “I should probably shower first,” but eager to just hurry and get back. ) as I was still wearing my bathing suit and cover up dress (with a guacamole all over it), a baseball hat and no makeup.
Fall of 2012 came and it was time for relationship to be tested for the next four years.
We stopped and Faith asked if we wanted to get a picture and I was definitely against it, but Jacob insisted.
As soon as the picture was done, he got down on one knee and pulled out the ring box with the most beautiful ring (from a fanny pack he had been carrying for weeks as a ploy to hold Talon’s treats) and said “Cori will you marry me?
But when we made it through all four years of college, I knew there wasn't anything that we couldn't handle.
Given that realization, I didn't have a single doubt that Cori was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
Sure enough, we made it through our last 7 months of grade school and I didn't have a doubt in my mind that I wanted to make our relationship work. We lived 10 minutes apart and had all the time in the world to spend with each other. I was locked in to Virginia Tech and she was accepted into Christopher Newport University.
